RE:GENESIS: TRANSFORMED BY GOD’S FAITHFULNESS
In Genesis 29:1–30, Jacob leaves Bethel carrying the promise of God’s presence and protection, and God’s faithfulness begins shaping him on the road. At the well, God leads Jacob providentially to Rachel, showing that His guidance is often at work in ordinary places and unexpected moments. Through Jacob’s love, labor, and waiting, God begins forming a man who once grasped and schemed into one who must serve patiently. Yet God’s faithfulness also disciplines Jacob as the deceiver becomes deceived by Laban, allowing him to reap what he had sown so that he might be transformed. Ultimately, Jacob’s meeting at the well points forward to Jesus, the greater Bridegroom, who meets a Samaritan woman at a well, offers living water, and redeems thirsty sinners into true worshipers.
