Genesis 39 reminds us that God’s presence is not measured by our circumstances. Joseph is blessed in Potiphar’s house, relentlessly tempted by Potiphar’s wife, falsely accused for doing the right thing, and eventually thrown into prison. Yet the same truth is repeated at both ends of the chapter: the Lord was with Joseph. His success was never really about where he was, but who was with him. Joseph also shows us that obedience grows out of remembering the goodness of our Master. Potiphar had trusted him with everything, and Joseph refused to betray that trust. In the same way, Christ has given us everything we truly need, made us heirs with Him, and entrusted us with His mission. Whether in the penthouse or the prison, God is still present, still working, and still moving His promises forward.
