RE:GENESIS: CALLED TO BE SAVED (GENESIS 18:16 - 19:38)

Mar 1, 2026    Greg McGhee

In Genesis 18:16–19:38, we see that sin is heavy—it accumulates, cries out, and demands justice. Sodom is not just an ancient city; it is a mirror of the human heart. Yet even as judgment looms, mercy is available. Abraham stands in the gap, revealing a God who invites intercession. When Lot lingers, grace is given—the Lord mercifully drags him out. But Lot’s wife shows that desires are revealed in crisis; you don’t look back at what you hate, only what you still love. The passage ultimately points beyond Abraham to Christ. Where Abraham pleaded, Jesus paid. Where judgment fell, He stood in our place. Jesus is better—better than sin, better than Sodom, better than anything we’re tempted to return to. Believe in Him, and you will be saved.
