THE KING WE FOLLOWED: EASTER SERIES: THE KING (1 Kings 3:5-14)
Mar 29, 2026 • Greg McGhee
In The King We Followed, we look at Solomon—not just as a king who drifted, but as a leader the people followed into that drift. Solomon began with wisdom and blessing, but over time his heart turned from God through small compromises that eventually became public idolatry. And it didn’t stop with him. His choices shaped the next generation, as both Rehoboam and Jeroboam led God’s people further away from true worship. Solomon’s life reminds us that what we follow, we often become—and what we tolerate, we pass on. When we place ultimate trust in human leaders, we risk following them where they were never meant to lead. Only one King is worthy of that kind of devotion—Jesus, the King who never fails.
