DISCIPLE NOW WEEKEND - NO WAY OF ESCAPE
This sermon proclaims the unshakable security believers have in Christ, rooted in Romans 8:31–39. Framed by Jesus’ words in John 16:33, it emphasizes that “take heart” is not a shallow pep talk but a commanded courage grounded in Christ’s finished victory. Paul’s climactic question—“If God is for us, who can be against us?”—anchors the message: God proved He is for us by not sparing His own Son. Because Christ died, rose again, justifies us, intercedes for us, and loves us, there is no condemnation and no ultimate threat. Like a courtroom scene where the case is dismissed, every accusation against God’s children fails. The sermon concludes by confronting the lie that failure can separate us from God’s love and invites hearers to rest in the truth that nothing—past, present, or future—can sever them from Christ’s saving love.
