RE:GENESIS: CALLED TO CHOOSE (GENESIS 13:1-18)
Jan 11, 2026 • Greg McGhee
Genesis 13 highlights a significant turning point in Abram’s journey. After failing in Egypt, Abram returns to the land of promise and resumes worship, showing that renewal often begins with returning to God. As he and Lot prosper, abundance creates tension between them, revealing that blessing can test faith as much as hardship. Abram chooses peace over conflict, trusting God enough to give Lot the first choice of the land. Lot selects what looks best, a decision shaped by sight rather than faith, which begins a slow drift toward danger. In contrast, God reaffirms His promise to Abram, expanding his hope for the future. Abram responds with worship, demonstrating a life anchored in trust rather than circumstances.
