Genesis 1:1-2

God is the Subject, Not Us.

God Speaks Chaos into Order.

Creation is the Arena of Redemption.

You can’t understand life until you start with the God who speaks it into being.

FORMED WITH ORDER

Genesis 1:3-5

God’s Boundaries Bring Blessings.

God’s Order Shows His Character.

God’s Order Anticipates His Law.

Every boundary God sets is not to box us in, but to bless us.

FORMED TO FLOURISH

God Fills Emptiness with Abundance.

Flourishing is Everyone Working for the Flourishing of Everyone.

Shalom is the Goal.

God doesn’t leave empty what he has formed.  He fills it with life and calls it good.

Genesis 1:26-31

God Shares His Rule/Dominion.

God is Looking for a Prophet, Priest, and King.

First Adam Failed, the Last Adam Restores.

Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph all fail…but they point us to the one who never will.

FORMED FOR REST

Genesis 2:1-3

Rest is the Last Day of Creation.

Rest is the Fruit of Redemption.

Rest is the Forever Future.

We were not formed to work endlessly, but to rest joyfully in Him.
