RE:GENESIS: CALLED TO RECEIVE (GENESIS 18:1-15)
In Genesis 18, God appears to Abraham and reiterates His promise that Sarah will bear a son. After twenty-four years of waiting, the promise seems humanly impossible. Sarah laughs in disbelief, but the Lord responds with a defining question: “Is anything too hard for the LORD?” This passage reminds us that the life of faith is not about producing for God, but receiving from Him. Abraham receives God’s presence with humble hospitality. Sarah is called to receive God’s promise despite her limitations. And both must receive God’s power to do what they cannot. This moment moves the entire redemption story forward—because if God can bring life from a barren womb, He can bring life from a tomb. We are called to receive His presence, trust His promise, and rest in His power.
