TALE OF TWO TREES

TALE OF TWO TREES first teaches that the reason behind there being two trees in the center of the Garden of Eden (which is represented by the Holy of Holies) is that accessing God’s life-giving presence is granted through man’s choice - the two trees signify it being a choice about wisdom. Then, it shows this pattern of tests from God given to people at trees seen throughout the entire Bible, leading up to the cross (the ultimate test). When we see the pattern and connect it back to the Garden, we discover that choosing Christ is the ultimate wisdom, which comes through denying ourselves what looks good in our eyes and choosing obedience instead.
