PAUSE: THE RHYTHM OF FAITHFULNESS

PAUSE: THE RHYTHM OF FAITHFULNESS reminds us that rest is not weakness, laziness, or retreat from faithfulness—it is part of faithfulness. In Mark 6:30–32, the disciples return to Jesus after a season of hard ministry, and before He sends them back out, He calls them to come away and rest. Mark 2:23–28 teaches us that Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath; rest is God’s gift, not a religious burden. We return to Jesus with the work we have carried, rest with purpose because we are human and not the Savior, and reenter the mission renewed. The work may not be finished, but Jesus still says, “Come away.” Rest is worship because it trusts that everything depends on Him, not us.
